Indian School becoming Indian

School becoming Indian in True Spirit

The latest news is that Teachers are planning for a boycott of the class. Hei, dont get excited. it is only one period of the day. and classes from 9th to 12th is excluded as they do not want to damage the future of the students...lol....
Background of the incident goes like this..... teachers were asking for a salary hike which the management is not heeding to (same old story of our movies) then the new staff secretaries approached embassy of india and they got an order in favour of them (hike should be given). the school management decided to appeal against the same. therefore teachers decided enough is enough.
the outcome would be that by Jan or so (ie.after the vacation) they would symbolically protest by not attending the classes for one period of the day or so.
anyway good news is that the students would have the first hand exposure of strike and non-cooperation movement which till date have been seen and heard in their text books and tvs............
Inqlab Zindabad.................lol

FASHION DESIGN

School will be starting very soon a new course – Fashion Design. Not based on the requirements of the students or on the requests of the parents but to accommodate our BHALLE BHALLE BHAIYA – the Great Punjab ki Puthar – the one and only one Mr.Parvinder Singh ..bhalle bhalle bhalleeeeeee

Man, you have to see his dress in the sports day. Even the Telugu Actors and directors would be scared. What a show man. His wife would have used all her skills in making him such a crazy crown for the event.

Rules are for a few common people only. Where is our Princi who always be lecturing about uniforms, uniformity, adherence to rules, bla, bla, bla,
Oh he is Ismailing (sorry not our school staff – Ismail, poor Ismail will always be running towards Princi whenever he ask us to Ismail oh sorry smile ) – smiling ……… and indirectly saying rules are meant to be broken but by MY men only, not by you.

What a tribute to Gandhiji………woh

The School celebrated the annual sports day as usual. The only difference I noticed and also some others say is that about the welcome speech by the Sports Committee Chairman. Usually it is done by the Principal, this time done by the Sports committee chairman. An unusual change. For good or bad- let future decide

But what surprised me is the news given below:
Primary students presented a show – Glimpses of India. But later only I came to know that the kid who acted as Gandhiji is a Pakistani boy. His parents allowed him to tonsure his head and he dressed as Gandhiji. A small boy taking so much of pain to act as a leader of a country whom his country is having all sort of issues!! Hope our RSS – VHP “nationalist” and Islamic Fundamentalists learn basic lessons from these kids…..

Three hurrays to the Child……….
Three hurrays to the Child’s parents ………..
Three hurrays to the Teachers, Primary I/C and Principal……….

Let the vision of Gandhiji for an Undivided India live like this………
LAGE LARO GANDHIJI………………..& chota munnas (and munnabhais also)

Toilets - World & School

Recently there was an article (news item) in Khaleej Times. The heading goes "World needs to build 100,000 toilets a day". And the matter relates to the basic sanitation issue. Then I just thought about our school and the complaints many of my friends having about the toilets in the school. Recently I met a friend in an MNC who joined the same from Bombay. I checked with him about Salalah and his shift from Bombay etc, etc. He is quite happy on all matters except the school. Even though he is not much concerned about the quality of education, he is really afraid about the hygiene aspects in the school. This view is echoed by many parents also. Most of them say they have directly and indirectly brought this matter to the notice of the school authorities but without any result.

Education is not just the knowledge gaining in some subjects, it is overall knowledge gaining process also which makes a human being – a social being. Hygiene is one important element in that making. Toilets condition in the school, they say is pathetic. And many students do not dare to visit it. That gives a wrong message. I used to joke that if a person having a desire to visit toilet is given an option to have a toilet or one crore rupees, he would opt for the toilet only. Stopping the call of the nature according to our wish is one of the impossible tasks for a human being. Then the case of students is a very sorry case.

In my experience from different parts of the world, whatever your race, nationality or background – toilet is a messy place unless it kept clean and continuously maintained. The deterioration in the condition is 4.7 times faster when the usage is multiplied by 2 (WHO statistics). Kids coming in a specific time (break time) and started using the same with the least regard to the next who has to come (because they have the urgency to go to play or eat) and do not take care of the messy thing they do. This is where the education should take care of their attitude building. After all a social being is not one cares for themselves but for others also and that makes a society.

Hope the school would take it seriously.. hope is a good word always ………………..

Welcome

Hi Friends,
I had this thought for a long time now. Wanted to create a blog for our favourite school. Dont ask me whether I am / was a student of this school or whether i am a parent or whether i am a vested party in this institution.
please note that i am only a socially concerned human being who understands the need to have a good educational institution for building up a future generation which would be good for the society while remaining and meeting the dreams of their parents.
this blog is not for political activities, lobbying or any sort of personal gains.
at the same time it is meant to act as an interest group for the betterment of the related parties (students, parents, teachers, community, everyone) so that our joint effort would yield the right persons for the future generation.
